South Shore United are organizing keeper training sessions for the players who are interested in the South Shore. We are extremely excited to announce that the program will be administered by Brendan Norris. We would like to start with an introduction session on Friday August 19th, 7pm at Parkview. This is to give the players an idea of what they can expect during a proper keeper training session. It will also give Brendan an idea of the ranges of experience he will be dealing with and the club an idea of the numbers we could hopefully prepare for in the summer/fall session.
We will initially be running a five session training program during the remainder of August and into September. Each session will be 1.5 hours and will be divided by age and experience. All sessions will be on the turf at Parkview unless otherwise communicated to the kids prior to.
The "Fundamentals" program will be for ages 9-13 and the "Elite" program will be for ages 14 and up. Brendan can certainly provide more information and direction about the program and his expectations for players, to the parents at the field. The introduction will not count toward the 5 session training program being offered by SSU this summer/fall. The exact dates in August/September will be sent out through email and Spond. The fee for the program will be sent out in the coming days.
Presidents and Coaches are asked to forward this info along to all of your players and to encourage them to please attend if they are a current keeper on a team, someone interested in becoming a better keeper, or someone simply interested in the position and want to try it out and see if they'd like to become one.
If they want to attend, keepers should email Peter Craig, firstname.lastname@example.org
The keepers will require cleats, shin pads and socks. Gloves are also a must, however if they do not have gloves, we can try to provide a pair they can borrow if need be.
