SSUFC INCLUSION POLICY

SSUFC is dedicated to assisting the largest number of players possible, with the most appropriate level of programming for each player.

SSUFC follows the Canada Soccer Guide to Accessibility and Inclusion

SSUFC is dedicated to the commitment of equity and strives to create an environment that is reflective of the diversity of Nova Scotians. We are committed to encouraging diversity which includes, but is not limited to, age, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, persons with disabilities, African Nova Scotians, Indigenous peoples in Canada, and racially visible minorities.

SSUFC shall conduct its employee related actions and programs on the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, which shall encompass recruitment, hiring, remuneration, benefits, promotions, and training.

No person shall be discriminated against on the basis of, age, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, persons with disabilities, African Nova Scotians, Indigenous peoples in Canada, and racially visible minorities. 

During our Winter programs, when we are running minis form U5 to Senior levels, we will do our very best to include as many players as possible.

Within our competitive stream, we strive to provide the largest number of appropriate opportunities for those players seeking a higher performance environment, within our capacity.

In taking the player first approach for inclusion SSUFC commits to the following

• No player will be turned away for financial reasons.
  • Kidsport, ProKids, Sponsors, Club Assistance funding and other financial opportunities are provided
  • Confidentiality for all members requiring assitance
• SSUFC celebrates the diversity of our soccer community in all forms.
• Players who require accomidations will have the opportunity to play. SSUFC will work with the player, parents and advisors to provide resources as needed.
  • Buddy systems for players to have a consistent point of contact in addition to the lead coach
  • Appropriate programming for the stage of the player
  • Training for our coaches and player assistants for the needs of the members
